What we help with
Sessions are online, so you can join from anywhere in Texas with a quiet room and a good connection. We see kids from birth to 17 and adults, for speech, language, stuttering, social communication, AAC, voice and selective eating.

Texas early intervention
Texas Health and Human Services runs Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) for children from birth to age 3. Evaluations are free, and services use a sliding scale based on family size and income. Talking Jay Speech Therapy is a private practice, not the state program.
You can use both. Some families contact their state program and book with us the same week. Others start with us while they wait for a state evaluation, or add sessions alongside state services.

One price list for everyone, and you pay per visit. We don't bill insurance, but we can provide you with a superbill for you to send to your insurance company for out-of-network coverage. We do accept HSA and FSA cards.

Do I need to be in Texas for sessions?
Yes. Because of how licensing works, you'll need to be in Texas during each session. If you'll be out of state, let us know and we'll reschedule.

Can my child get ECI services and see Talking Jay Speech Therapy?
Yes. Some families contact their state program and book with us the same week. Others start with us while they wait for a state evaluation, or add sessions alongside state services. If your child sees both, let each provider know so the goals line up.
What happens when my child turns 3?
State early intervention programs end at age 3. Many children move to their public school district for an evaluation and, if eligible, preschool services. Children can keep seeing Talking Jay Speech Therapy after age 3.
